Dr. Allen Burton is currently the Department Chair of the Department of Pain Medicine at the prestigious and world-renowned University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He has practiced pain management and led the pain management staff at MD Anderson since 2000. He is double board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Pain Medicine.

Dr. Burton is a leading expert in the specialty of pain management, and holds a specific interest and expertise in pain management for those who are suffering from cancer pain.

Dr. Burton has won many highly sought after awards, including the American Medical Association’s Physician’s Recognition Award and was included in the 2005-2006 edition of Best Doctors in America. Dr. Burton is dedicated to research and holds multiple patents and technology licenses. Dr. Burton is consistently published, and has been an Associate Editor for many esteemed medical publications, including Pain Practice, Pain Physician and Pain Medicine. He regularly presents at major meetings and medical conferences on many topics, including pain management for cancer patients.
