Dr. Aló graduated from Texas A&M University College of Medicine and completed his General Surgery Internship, Anesthesiology Residency, and Interventional Pain Fellowship at The Methodist Hospital, and Baylor college of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals in the Texas Medical Center. He is board certified and has been active in supporting the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the American Neuromodulation Society, the National Pain Foundation, the International Neuromodulation Society, The International Association for the Study of Pain, The American Pain Foundation, and the American Pain Society in various roles.
Specializing in the Interventional Management of Pain, Dr. Aló believes enhanced knowledge, improved communication, and systematic diagnostic and therapeutic evaluations offer pain patients an expedited opportunity to reduce suffering and maximize quality of life. Dr. Aló maintains progressive diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms by continuously studying, teaching, writing and participating in the latest clinical research. His goal is to systematically intervene and break a patients pain cycle accurately and promptly, so that rehabilitative techniques can begin the reconditioning process.
In addition to serving on the Editorial Board of "Neuromodulation - Journal of Technology at the Neural Interface", Dr. Aló has had research published in “The Journal Neurosurgery”, “Proceedings of the International Neuromodulation Society”, “The International Journal the Pain Clinic”, “Neuromodulation – Journal of Technology at the Neural Interface”, “Neurocontact”, “The Journal Headache and Facial Pain”, “Pain Practice” and multiple book chapters, among others. On behalf of physicians and patients here and abroad, he is regularly asked to lecture and demonstrate the latest diagnostic and therapeutic practices. These best practices have involved workshops, clinical trials, presentations, meetings, and visiting professorships (University of Basel, University of Vienna and the University of Pisa) since beginning practice in 1994. He remains active as the Director of the Section of Neuro-Cardiology at the Institute of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine - Monterrey Technical University, as a Clinical Researcher at the Methodist Hospital Research Institute in the Texas Medical Center, as the Director of Interventional Spinal Diagnostics at North American Spine (Northamericanspine.com) and as the Director of Neuromodulation and Clinical Research at Ascendant Neurostimulation (Ascendantneuro.com).
