Dr. Tory McJunkin is a double board certified Interventional Pain Medicine physician. He is a top physician in the field of pain medicine and consistently treats his patients with compassion and a level of care that is unsurpassed.
After obtaining medical training from prestigious programs including the University of Oklahoma, St Josephs Hospital, and the University of Iowa, Dr. McJunkin completed his pain training with a Fellowship in Pain Medicine at the elite Texas Tech. Further proving his high level of expertise, Dr. McJunkin passed each of his demanding medical exams on the first attempt.
Dr. McJunkin then saw the realization of a dream in Arizona Pain Specialists, the pain practice he co-founded with his best friend and fellow physician. Dr. McJunkin has a unique approach to pain management, as he treats each patient with an individualized treatment program. By working with each patient and sincerely caring about their particular pain condition, Dr. McJunkin implements this complementary approach every day.
In addition to being an extremely talented physician, Dr. McJunkin is also known as an intelligent and friendly physician. His patients respond overwhelmingly to their care and his pleasant demeanor, and he was awarded with the exclusive Patient’s Choice Award in 2008 and 2009.
As a pain physician, Dr. McJunkin is well-versed in all aspects of interventional pain management. However, he has a special interest in advanced pain medicine. He often treats patients that other physicians have been unable to help, especially in areas of facial pain, spinal compression fractures, neuropathic pain, CRPS, post-laminectomy syndrome (FBSS), chronic headaches, and others. Known by pain experts as a “pacemaker for pain,” Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS), peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS), and peripheral nerve field stimulation (PNfS) are areas of interest and research for Dr. McJunkin. He has brought these cutting-edge treatments with great success to many patients who have failed other treatments.
Dr. McJunkin shares his knowledge of advanced pain management by teaching these topics at a national level, as well as often teaching at the well-known Mayo Clinic. He regularly is part of research and has publishes his work in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. McJunkin is a major advocate for patient education. He believes that patients should be aware and comfortable with their treatment plan, and works daily to implement unique new ways to educate patients.
